About Us

Urithi Wetu (Our Heritage) is a research network/group that brings together researchers, educators, and students from across the globe whose interests revolve around investigating, preserving, promoting, and utilizing heritage to improve people’s livelihoods and bring peace among communities in Tanzania and beyond. The network also includes heritage practitioners in the government and private sectors. All members of the Urithi Wetu network collaborate with communities in areas where they research to co-produce knowledge that is easy to understand and utilize to bring positive change.
